The Lagos State Government has sealed a property in Lekki for allegedly discharging wastewater into the environment and endangering lives.

The property, located at No. 11, Major Bolaji Ariyo Street, off Afoluke Avenue, TPDC Estate, Eti-Osa, was shut down by officials of the Lagos State Wastewater Management Office (LSWMO).

Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, confirmed the enforcement on Saturday, following a complaint by a resident identified as @Bond_not_james on X.

He said the government acted swiftly to address the violation, stressing that improper waste disposal would not be tolerated.

“Improper disposal of waste poses serious environmental and public health risks, and we will not tolerate such violations. Our duty is to protect the environment and ensure that Lagos remains clean, safe, and livable for all,” Wahab said.

The sealing is part of the state’s renewed crackdown on environmental infractions, with officials warning that more violators would be prosecuted in the coming weeks.
