Shock and outrage have trailed the gruesome murder of Lagos interior designer, Deborah Moses, popularly known as Deb’rah Porsche, who was allegedly stabbed to death by her ex-boyfriend after months of threats and harassment.
The suspect, identified as Lintex, from Otukpo in Benue State, reportedly disguised as a dispatch rider to gain access into Deborah’s estate late Wednesday night. When security operatives grew suspicious, he scaled the fence, stormed her apartment, and launched a deadly attack.
Before forcing his way in, the enraged ex is said to have attempted to trigger an explosion by cutting her cooking gas pipe. When that failed, he allegedly broke into her flat and stabbed her repeatedly until she bled to death.
A family member revealed that Deborah had broken up with Lintex more than a year ago but had endured constant threats ever since.
“He always said, ‘If I don’t have you, nobody will. If I don’t marry you, blood will flow,’” the relative recounted bitterly.
Deborah, who only recently completed her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme, was said to be gradually building her career when her life was tragically cut short.
“She was just trying to find her feet when this monster ended it all,” her devastated sister lamented.
Neighbors overpowered Lintex after the bloody attack and handed him to the police, who have since confirmed he is in custody.
Rights activists and family members are now demanding a thorough probe, warning the authorities not to sweep the case under the carpet as yet another forgotten crime against women.
