Super Eagles captain, William Troost-Ekong, has promised that the team will give their best to make Nigerians proud in today’s World Cup qualifying match against Rwanda’s Amavubi.
Speaking at a press conference on Friday at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Ekong said the players are fully prepared and motivated to win.
He assured fans that the team has trained well and is ready to follow their game plan. “We are ready. We’ve had good training sessions and I know my players,” he said.
The captain also highlighted the importance of the match, explaining that victory would boost the team’s confidence as they continue their push for World Cup qualification.
“We need to be serious to win the game. My team is motivated and we understand how important this match is. Winning will give us hope because we have a strong squad,” he said.
Troost-Ekong described playing for Nigeria at the World Cup as a dream for every player, stressing that all members of the team know what is at stake.
“We are focused, motivated, and confident in our preparation. Now it’s up to us to deliver on the pitch,” he added.
