Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and immediate past governor of Kano state, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has dismissed reports suggesting he is planning to dump the ruling party for the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Ganduje, who resigned as APC chairman two months ago, described the speculation as “fake news” designed to mislead the public.

Speaking through his media aide, Ganduje said he remains a committed member of the APC and will continue to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

“The story making the rounds about Dr. Ganduje defecting to ADC is completely false and should be disregarded,” his spokesperson stated.

“He remains loyal to the APC and to President Tinubu.”

The denial comes amid ongoing political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections, with several prominent politicians switching party affiliations.

Ganduje, however, maintained that his political future is tied to the APC, stressing that no amount of rumour-mongering will change his commitment.
