President Bola Tinubu has ordered a review of military operations across the country, following last Friday’s deadly attack in Borno State.

The directive, according to Vice President Kashim Shettima, will involve the deployment of advanced hardware and surveillance equipment to root out terrorist groups.

Shettima, who mourned the victims of the Darajamal community assault in Bama Local Government, described the killings as a “profound national loss.”

He extended condolences to Governor Babagana Zulum, families of the deceased, and the Nigerian military, stressing that justice will be served.

The Vice President also confirmed that President Tinubu had approved the purchase of additional drones to strengthen counterterrorism operations, while hinting at renewed discussions on state police to tackle insecurity at the grassroots.

Governor Zulum had earlier visited Darajamal to console the grieving families of both civilians and soldiers killed by Boko Haram insurgents.
