Nottingham Forest have moved quickly to replace sacked manager Nuno Espirito Santo, with former Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou lined up to take charge at the City Ground.
Nuno was shown the exit late Monday night after a 3-0 defeat to West Ham, ending his 21-month reign. Despite guiding Forest to seventh place last season — their best finish in three decades the club decided to pull the plug.
Postecoglou, 60, wasted no time as he was spotted at Forest’s training ground on Tuesday. He is expected to be confirmed before their trip to Arsenal this weekend.
The Australian endured a rocky spell at Spurs, finishing 17th in the Premier League last season. But he etched his name in their history books by winning the Europa League, Tottenham’s first major trophy in 17 years.
Forest currently sit 10th after three games, but Evangelos Marinakis is already making his eighth managerial change since buying the club in 2017.
Players were said to be stunned by Nuno’s exit, many hearing the news while on international duty.
