Fresh study reveals club most likely to win Premier League

A new study has thrown fresh drama into the Premier League title race, naming the club most likely to be crowned champions this season.

According to a new report by the CIES Football Observatory, Liverpool have a 28.9% chance of lifting the title again under Arne Slot, who stormed to glory in his debut season last term.

Arsenal follow closely with an 18.8% chance, while Chelsea sit third on 16.2%. Surprisingly, Manchester City , 10-time champions and serial winners under Pep Guardiola are ranked only fourth, with a 14.4% chance of reclaiming the trophy.

Manchester United’s struggles were also laid bare, with the Red Devils handed just a 2.6% chance of winning their first league crown since 2013.

Beyond England, the same study puts Real Madrid (40.6%) as favourites for La Liga ahead of Barcelona (29.6%), Bayern Munich (61.4%) for the Bundesliga, and PSG (73.0%) for another Ligue 1 stroll. In Italy, Inter Milan top the list with a 25.6% chance, edging Juventus (18.2%) and Napoli (17.4%).

But the strongest prediction came from Serbia, where Red Star Belgrade are 76.2% likely to retain their domestic crown, the highest certainty across all 29 leagues surveyed.
