The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River has taken a swipe at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), saying the opposition’s plan to reclaim the state in 2027 is nothing but an “empty boast.”
APC’s Publicity Secretary, Emmanuel Inyang, in a statement on Thursday, dismissed the PDP’s recent meeting in Calabar as “hollow political comedy,” insisting the party had long lost its relevance.
“Even when PDP was stronger, APC defeated it at the polls. Today, PDP is nothing but a shadow of itself, with its members trooping in droves to join us. Their ambition in 2027 is dead on arrival,” the ruling party declared.
APC further assured supporters that Governor Bassey Otu’s re-election in 2027 is “as certain as daybreak and nightfall,” urging Cross Riverians to remain loyal to the People First administration.
The PDP, which held power in the state from 1999 to 2015 before crumbling under internal cracks and defections, is now facing APC’s confidence that it has no political future in Cross River.
