Full identity of Charlie Kirk’s ‘killer’ revealed

Quick Read

The suspected assassin of conservative activist Charlie Kirk has been unmasked as Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old student of Utah Valley University.

The suspected assassin of conservative activist Charlie Kirk has been unmasked as Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old student of Utah Valley University.

Robinson was arrested late Thursday night in southern Utah after a massive manhunt that lasted more than a day. Law enforcement sources said the breakthrough came when Robinson confessed to his father, a veteran officer with the Washington County Sheriff’s Department who then alerted authorities and helped secure his son before federal agents closed in.

According to Daily Mail, investigators confirmed that Robinson lived in a $600,000 home in Washington, Utah, about 260 miles away from where Kirk was shot dead on campus in Orem during a Turning Point USA rally on Wednesday.

His mother, Amber Robinson, works in disability care services contracted by the state.

Police say Robinson will face the death penalty if convicted of the assassination, but no motive has been officially confirmed.

President Donald Trump first announced the arrest during a live appearance on Fox News, telling viewers that “someone very close” to the suspect turned him in. Reports later confirmed it was Robinson’s father who made the call.

The arrest ends days of confusion after officials had earlier picked up multiple “persons of interest,” only to release them when they were cleared by the FBI.

Kirk, 31, a father of two and one of Trump’s fiercest allies, was felled by a single sniper shot while addressing students. Panic gripped the campus as students ran for cover.

He leaves behind his wife, Erika, and their two young children. President Trump has ordered flags flown at half-mast across the United States until Sunday in his honour.
