Video: Pastor Bolaji Idowu prays for Hilda Baci ahead of world-record jollof

Celebrity chef Hilda Baci received spiritual backing from Pastor Bolaji Idowu on Friday as she set out to cook the world’s largest pot of Nigerian jollof rice at Eko Hotels & Suites.

The Lead Pastor of Harvesters International Christian Centre offered prayers and words of encouragement to Baci moments before the historic cookout kicked off, blessing her attempt to break yet another Guinness World Record.

Baci, who first gained global fame in 2023 for setting the record for the longest cooking marathon, is now hosting the “Gino Jollof Festival” in partnership with her culinary brand. The festival features a colossal six-metre-wide and six-metre-tall pot, into which 250 bags of rice will be cooked for tens of thousands of attendees.

Organisers say the free-to-attend event has already drawn over 20,000 registrations. Baci assured fans that the meal would be “amazing and hygienic,” promising an unforgettable, record-breaking celebration of Nigerian jollof.
