President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended warm congratulations to two distinguished Nigerians, Farouk Gumel and Tobi Amusan, for their remarkable accomplishments on the international stage.

This is contained in a release by Presidential spokesman, Bayo Onanuga on Tuesday.

Gumel was recently appointed Chairman of Botswana Sovereign Wealth Fund Limited, a role the President described as a strong affirmation of his expertise, dedication, and the global recognition accorded to Nigerian professionals.

Tinubu noted Gumel’s longstanding contributions, particularly as Vice Chairman for Africa at Tropical General Investment (TGI) Group, where he has played a central role in advancing Nigeria’s food sufficiency drive.

“His appointment brings immense pride to our nation, and I am confident he will excel while further cementing Nigeria’s reputation for excellence in global finance,” the President stated.

On Amusan, who secured a silver medal in the women’s 100m hurdles at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, President Tinubu praised her resilience, determination, and patriotic spirit.

“Tobi has once again proven that with hard work and unyielding drive, no height is insurmountable. Her success is a source of national pride,” he remarked.

The President wished both Gumel and Amusan continued success in their endeavours, assuring them of his administration’s unwavering support.
