The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has warned Nigerians to ignore a fake job advert spreading on social media.

In a statement posted on its official X handle on Wednesday, INEC explained that the advert claimed the commission was recruiting for different positions and directed people to a fake website, inecrecruitment.com, to apply.

INEC made it clear that it does not run such a website and that there is no ongoing recruitment exercise.
The statement said:

“Our attention has been drawn to a fake advert on social media suggesting that INEC is recruiting. The impostors behind it also asked applicants to use a fake website – inecrecruitment.com. But INEC does not have any such portal.

“We urge the public to ignore this fraudulent call for applications. INEC is not recruiting. Do not fall victim to the tricks of criminals.

”The commission advised Nigerians to rely only on its official website and verified communication channels for genuine information.
