UCL: Maresca defends stance on Jackson as Chelsea face Bayern

Chelsea manager, Enzo Maresca, has made it clear that he does not have any problem with Nicolas Jackson, the striker currently on loan at Bayern Munich.
Speaking before Chelsea’s Champions League match against Bayern on Wednesday, Maresca dismissed reports that his relationship with the Senegalese forward had broken down.
Jackson left Chelsea in the summer transfer window to join Bayern Munich on loan, with the German champions having the option to buy him permanently next year.
His agent, Diomansy Kamara, recently suggested that the striker would not return to Chelsea after the loan, claiming that the relationship between Jackson and Maresca was not good.
Kamara, speaking on Canal+ Sport, said, “Absolutely not. Today at Chelsea, the relationship with Maresca is not necessarily the best.”
But Maresca strongly disagreed with those claims. Speaking to reporters on Tuesday night, the Italian coach said:
“Me with Nico? Personally, I never had any problem with Nico and I don’t have any problem with him now. He is a good guy, a good professional, he worked well with us, and that’s all.”
Maresca stressed that there was no personal issue between him and the player, and he wished him well at Bayern Munich.
Jackson, on his part, has already stated that he has no regrets about leaving Chelsea and is happy to play under Vincent Kompany at Bayern.
The striker is determined to prove himself in Germany, and his future could depend on how well he performs this season.
This situation shows the different perspectives between a player’s representatives and the club.
While the agent may believe Jackson’s time at Chelsea is over, Maresca insists there is mutual respect between him and the forward.
As Chelsea prepare for their big Champions League clash with Bayern, Maresca’s comments may help calm speculation and show that he wants to keep the focus on football rather than off-field drama.
