The Nigeria Police Force has denied a recruitment notice that has been circulating on social media, calling it fake. The police warned Nigerians not to fall for the scam.

The fake document, titled “Nigeria Police Force Recruitment Exercise 2025,” claimed that the police were accepting applications from SSCE, OND, HND, and B.Sc. holders.

It listed requirements such as age limits, fitness standards, and academic qualifications. It also mentioned a supposed online portal that would open on September 23, 2025.

According to the notice, applicants needed to be Nigerian citizens by birth, have a valid National Identification Number, meet height and education requirements, and submit documents like birth certificates and guarantor forms.

On Thursday, the police used their verified X account to dismiss the claims and marked the document as “FAKE” to warn the public.

The Police Service Commission (PSC) had also warned earlier. On August 30, PSC spokesperson Ikechukwu Ani explained that no recruitment exercise had been announced for 2025.

He said the advert was false and misleading, adding that the forged document did not match the Commission’s official communications.

The police confirmed that any genuine recruitment would only be announced through official government platforms.
