Dolphins Crowned Champions of Zenith Bank NBBF Women’s Basketball League

The Dolphins Basketball Club of Lagos on Saturday emerged champions of the 2025 Zenith Bank NBBF Women’s Basketball League after defeating First Bank 61–55 in a thrilling final at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Surulere.

The keenly contested encounter kept fans on the edge of their seats, as both teams displayed resilience and tactical brilliance. However, the Dolphins proved more clinical in the closing minutes, sealing victory to secure the coveted title.

With the triumph, the Lagos side will smile home with the competition’s top prize of ₦7.5 million. Runners-up First Bank are set to pocket ₦5 million, while MFM Basketball Club, who finished in third place, will receive ₦3 million for their efforts.

The victory marks a significant milestone for the Dolphins, who overcame tough opposition throughout the campaign to reclaim their place at the summit of women’s basketball in Nigeria.
