Nollywood actress and businesswoman, Uche Ogbodo, has revealed that her decision to undergo Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) surgery was driven by her desire to regain confidence and improve her mental health after childbirth.
Speaking in an interview with Saturday Punch, the mother of three disclosed that her husband fully supported her choice, having witnessed the struggles she faced with her body after three cesarean deliveries.
Ogbodo explained that her figure changed drastically following childbirth, which affected how she felt about herself. She emphasized that the procedure was not to please anyone but rather to help her feel “happy, confident, and enough.”
“I didn’t like what I looked like after my third baby. I felt I owed it to myself to be happy and confident. The surgery was for me, for my mental health, not for any other person,” she said.
The actress also noted that she chose to be open about her body enhancement to inspire other women, contrasting with celebrities who conceal such procedures.
“In this country, people are often not honest, especially celebrities. You’re a role model, yet you lie to people who genuinely love you. I believe in using my life experiences to encourage women to believe in themselves,” she added.
Ogbodo admitted she was aware of the risks involved but felt secure undergoing the procedure under professional care. She further criticized the culture of secrecy around body enhancements, saying women should be honest about the steps they take toward self-improvement.
