Harry Kane is proving unstoppable in Germany. The England captain banged in his second Bundesliga hat-trick of the season on Saturday as Bayern Munich dismantled Hoffenheim 4-1 to keep their perfect start alive.

Fresh from tormenting Chelsea in the Champions League midweek, Kane carried his deadly form into the league, striking before the break and then twice from the penalty spot to take his tally to 13 goals in just seven games this term.

Hoffenheim threatened early, but once Kane sliced home the opener, their hopes fizzled. A soft handball call handed Bayern a penalty moments after half-time, which Kane buried with his usual ice-cold precision. He completed his treble in the 77th minute, this time after a VAR check for a foul on Michael Olise.

Hoffenheim grabbed a late consolation through Vladimir Coufal’s deflected free-kick, but Serge Gnabry — against his former club — rubbed salt in with Bayern’s fourth in stoppage time.

Kane now boasts 98 goals in 103 games since joining Bayern in 2023, with Saturday’s haul his ninth hat-trick for the club.

Elsewhere in Germany, history was made as Hamburg finally tasted a Bundesliga win after seven long years away from the top flight. Luka Vuskovic and Rayan Philippe struck in a nervy 2-1 victory over Heidenheim, ending a 2,688-day wait for three points.

Freiburg hammered Werder Bremen 3-0, Mainz stunned Augsburg 4-1 despite going down to 10 men, while RB Leipzig were set to face Cologne later in the evening.
