The FBI has revealed new twists in its ongoing investigation into the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, raising the possibility of a second shooter or accomplices behind the September 10 killing.
In a statement on Sunday, FBI Director Kash Patel said the Bureau is pursuing “every lead to its conclusion” and examining all theories surrounding the assassination, including the location of the shot, the angle of bullet impact, Discord chats, text message confessions, and suspicious hand signals seen near Kirk at the time of the attack.
The FBI also confirmed it is looking closely at visitors to the alleged shooter’s residence in the hours and days leading up to the killing, and how the weapon may have been transported to the scene.
“These details are still being pursued to ensure every possibility is considered,” Patel said. “Our primary focus is to complete this investigation and deliver justice.”
On the issue of a reported plane that allegedly turned off its transponder near the assassination site, Patel clarified after FAA consultation that incomplete rural flight data, not deliberate tampering, caused the gap in records.
Despite the clarification, Patel stressed that the Bureau is meticulously probing every aspect of the case, including theories that point to more than one suspect.
“The entire FBI mourns the loss of Charlie Kirk. We will not rest until justice is served, and our investigation will continue until every question is answered,” Patel vowed.
The development has fueled fresh debate across political and security circles, as speculation mounts that Kirk’s killing may have been more coordinated than first believed.
