Fuji and Apala lovers are gearing up for a cultural feast as Wasiu Haruna Ishola L1, popularly known as Lagunja 1, prepares to unveil his much-anticipated double album, Masterpiece, in Lagos this November.
The launch, powered by Big Bodeyy Promotions, is slated for the second week of the month.
Masterpiece delivers a dual offering: one part steeped in Fuji rhythms and the other in pure, traditional Apala, giving fans both a modern flair and a return to roots.

At the same time, he acknowledges the deep influence of his mentor, Fuji maestro Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde K1 De Ultimate, whose groundbreaking artistry helped shape his creative vision.
“This album is both a tribute to tradition and a bold step into the future,” Wasiu Haruna Ishola said, adding that “It is dedicated to my late father and to my mentor, Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde K1 De Ultimate, while embracing digital innovation.”
He further stressed the importance of adapting to global shifts in the music industry: “We have to explore more, acquire new knowledge, and take advantage of the ever-evolving digital world.”
With its careful fusion of heritage and contemporary artistry and carrying the imprint of K1 De Ultimate’s innovation, Masterpiece is set to be one of the most talked-about Nigerian music releases of the year.
