Speculations had swirled in August when a blurry photo of the ex-YBNL signee went viral, showing him with a neck wound. Police have now confirmed he was the victim of a violent armed robbery on August 19 at Bera Estate, Chevron, Lagos.
Kano police spokesman, Abdullahi Haruna, said tactical operatives, acting on intelligence, stormed Na’ibawa Quarters on September 11 and arrested Mathew Adewole, 25, and Mukhtar Muhammad, 31.
“Adewole confessed to attacking Lil Kesh and inflicting a deep cut on his neck before forcing him to transfer N2,120,000 into Mukhtar’s account,” Haruna revealed.
The suspects have been handed over to the Lagos State Police Command for further investigation and prosecution.
Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, had ordered a nationwide crackdown on violent crime, while Kano’s Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Bakori, hailed the breakthrough, promising tougher times ahead for criminals.
