However, with the derby against Marseille now coinciding with the event, most of the players will likely have to focus on the match instead of attending the awards.

Some Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) players will not attend the 2025 Ballon d’Or ceremony.

This is because their Ligue 1 clash against Marseille, known as Le Classique, has been moved to Monday night due to forecasts of heavy storms in southern France.

The rescheduled match will now take place at the same time as the Ballon d’Or ceremony at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris.

PSG winger Ousmane Dembélé, one of the favourites to win the award, is among the nominees. In total, nine other PSG players are also shortlisted, making the French champions the club with the most nominations.

However, with the derby against Marseille now coinciding with the event, most of the players will likely have to focus on the match instead of attending the awards.

Dembélé and Désiré Doué, who are both injured, could still be present at the ceremony since they may not feature in the game.
