Nigerian media personality and reality TV star Neo Akpofure, has weighed in on the topic of kneeling to propose to ones romantic interest.
Neo on his X handle on Sunday night revealed that he has no problem with kneeling down to propose to his intended wife. He also stated that despite the controversy surrounding that act, it is something he would do happily.
”If you like don’t kneel to ask your woman to marry you that’s for you. Me I will kneel with happiness and a big smile on my face. And if that bothers you I pray you don’t heal from that headache it causes you,” he wrote.
His declaration quickly sparked the debate of whether or not men should kneel when proposing to their partners or not. Some claimed it is an act of chivalry and is important, while others argued that it is not a part of the African culture.
