In a post shared on her Instagram page, the actress agreed with a pastor’s viral sermon where he condemned women who marry already married men, branding them as greedy and driven by jealousy.
The cleric had declared:
“All the people who have become second wives are greedy people. Very jealous! Witchcraft is driving them! You are a witch to be marrying somebody’s husband when you know the man is already married!”
Backing his statement, Rita Edochie wrote:
“IF YOU’RE A SECOND WIFE, YOU ARE NOTHING BUT A WITCH.
YOU ARE NOT INNOCENT, YOU ARE NOT SPECIAL, YOU ARE JUST GREEDY.
YOU HAVE CHOSEN TO FEED ON ANOTHER WOMAN’S TEARS, TO BUILD YOUR HAPPINESS ON SOMEONE ELSE’S PAIN.
DO NOT CALL IT LOVE, IT IS WICKEDNESS.
DO NOT CALL IT DESTINY, IT IS COVETOUSNESS.
A SECOND WIFE IS NOT A QUEEN, SHE IS A USURPER.”
She further warned that women who build their joy on another woman’s pain will eventually face the same heartbreak they caused.
Her post has since gone viral, sparking heated debates online. While some fans praised her for “speaking the hard truth,” others accused her of being too harsh in her choice of words.
Rita Edochie, known for her bold takes on moral and social issues, ended her post by describing second wives as “thieves who sneak into another woman’s home pretending to be brides.”
