The Senate has unsealed the office of  Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central Senatorial District.

The re-opening of the office of the Akpoti-Uduaghan was carried out on Tuesday by Deputy Director of the office of the Sergeant-at-Arms of the Senate, Alabi Adedeji.

He was said to have been accompanied by a contingent of security personnel to unseal yhe senator’s office—located in Suite 2.05 of the Senate Wing.

The development marks a potential turning point in a months-long political standoff between the embattled lawmaker and the leadership of the 10th Senate.

This move is coming after her six-month suspension by the Senate formally lapsed earlier this month.

Akpoti-Uduaghan was suspended in March 2025 following a heated protest over the reassignment of her Senate seat by Senate President Godswill Akpabio. The Senate subsequently barred her from all legislative activities for six months.

Despite the formal end of her suspension in September, Akpoti-Uduaghan, the Acting Clerk of the National Assembly had insisted she could not resume owing the ongoing legal legal wrangling about her suspension.

However, the unsealing of her office on Tuesday could imply a possible softening of the Senate’s stance.
