Controversial social media critic and activist, Martin Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has announced plans to mobilize his followers for a nationwide community service under the Ratel Movement.

In a viral video shared on Wednesday via his Facebook page, VDM revealed that the initiative will commence on Saturday, November 29, 2025, and will run monthly.

According to him, the programme is designed to address environmental challenges while fostering a culture of patriotism and civic responsibility among Nigerian youths.

“Starting from the 29th of November, 2025, which will be on a Saturday, we the Ratel Movement are taking over Nigeria. We are shutting down this country. That being said, we are not shutting down in terms of violence, we are shutting it down in terms of impact,” he said.

The activist explained that the exercise will feature sanitisation of public spaces, clearing of drainages, rehabilitation of school facilities, and other grassroots services across different communities.

He added that the move will mark a shift from online activism to tangible action.
“We are going to start what has never been seen before in Nigeria. We are moving from just being on social media claiming to be Ratels to presenting ourselves in real life and impacting our society,” VDM stated.
