Fresh controversy is trailing the shocking assassination of U.S. conservative Charlie Kirk, after revelations that witches were allegedly paid to place curses on him just two days before his killing.

According to U.S. broadcaster Megyn Kelly, Kirk’s widow, Erika, was “genuinely rattled” by a Jezebel article boasting that witches had been hired via Etsy to hex the 31-year-old commentator.

The disturbing piece, published on September 8, reportedly unsettled the Kirks so much that they called a Catholic priest to pray with them at their home the night before Charlie was gunned down at Utah Valley University.

“Erika told me she and Charlie heard about the curses, and it scared her,” Kelly revealed. “Why torture a Christian family like this? Why do such a vile thing to a young couple?”

Jezebel later deleted the post and issued a statement insisting it had no link to Kirk’s death. The outlet condemned the murder “in the strongest possible terms” and claimed the write-up was only a “satirical” exploration of online witchcraft.

But critics have slammed the timing as insensitive, with some suggesting the mock “curse” culture should not be taken lightly.

Charlie Kirk, a key ally of President Donald Trump and founder of Turning Point USA, was shot dead on campus on September 10. His wife, Erika, 36, is now left raising their young family amid grief and conspiracy.
