Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa has shared a thought-provoking message to her fans, encouraging them to prioritize their happiness and stop living to please others.
In a post on her Instagram page, the actress, who is contesting for Vice President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Southwest, cautioned against constantly saying “yes” to people out of fear of upsetting them.
She stressed that individuals are not responsible for the happiness of others, urging them to set boundaries and protect their peace.
“Stop saying yes to everything and everyone. Stop agreeing with people just so you don’t upset them. You are not a pushover. You were not born to be stressed and miserable so others can be relaxed and happy,” she wrote.
Amusa added that people should never feel guilty for making decisions that prioritize their own well-being, even if it upsets others.
According to her, “The world owes us nothing. We are where we are because of our decisions, not because of our circumstances. Stop whining and start taking responsibility for yourself.”
