The strike is also to compel the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) to consider the 2024 and 2025 promotions for its members, as well as organise training for them.
The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Osun Chapter, has expressed unwavering commitment to actualise its demands over unpaid benefits and stalled promotions.
This is contained in a statement issued by the chapter’s chairman, Mr Idris Adeniran, on Thursday in Osogbo.
The union promised not to undermine its legitimate struggle with misleading reports on the ongoing strike by its members.
It stated that the strike remains indefinite and would not be deterred by attempts to weakened its collective unity.
“We reaffirm our commitment to securing justice and fairness for all JUSUN members particularly on emphasis to our demands.
“Promotions, welfare issues among other entitlements are what we are demanding which are reasonable and long overdue.
“We will continue our struggle until they are met by the Osun Chief Judge and that is sacrosanct to all members,” the union stated.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the Osun judiciary workers , after a three-day warning strike, had on Sept. 19 directed its members to withdraw their services immediately over unpaid entitlements.
The strike is also to compel the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) to consider the 2024 and 2025 promotions for its members, as well as organise training for them.
