‘My mum was celibate for 20 years’, Yeni Kuti

Nigerian dancer and singer Yeni Kuti has made a shocking revelation about her late mother, Remilekun Anikulapo-Kuti, who was married to music icon, Fela.

While speaking with Premium Times, Yeni revealed tat her mother was celibate for two decades even after her marriage to Fela was dissolved.

She claimed that the late Remi never had any other relationships because of her love for Fela.

“My mummy moved out of my father’s house in 1981, and she died in 2002. From 1981 till she died, she never met another man; she was celibate during that period. She got cancer in between and when the doctor asked why she wasn’t using it, she said, ‘Fela is the only man for me’,” she said.
