Tech billionaire Elon Musk and Britain’s Prince Andrew have both been named in a fresh batch of Jeffrey Epstein files released by US Congressional Democrats, according to BBC.
The documents, handed over to the House Oversight Committee by Epstein’s estate, reportedly contain flight logs, financial ledgers, message notes, and daily schedules. Among them, a December 2014 entry reads: “Reminder: Elon Musk to island Dec. 6 (is this still happening?)”
Although Musk has previously admitted Epstein invited him to the island, he insists he never went. He has not yet commented on this new development.
Prince Andrew, on the other hand, appears on a May 2000 flight manifest from New Jersey to Florida alongside Epstein and his long-time associate, Ghislaine Maxwell later convicted of sex trafficking. A redacted ledger also makes two references to “payments for massages” for an “Andrew” in 2000. Whether that Andrew is the Duke of York remains unclear.
The timing is striking: Palace records confirm Andrew was in the US around the same dates. Still, the embattled royal has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing in his relationship with Epstein.
The files also list high-profile names like Peter Thiel, Steve Bannon, and even mention a tentative December 2014 breakfast party with Bill Gates, who has since admitted his Epstein meetings were a “mistake.”
Democrats say every new release proves Epstein’s reach among the rich and powerful. “It should be clear to every American that Jeffrey Epstein was friends with some of the most powerful and wealthiest men in the world,” said Sara Guerrero, spokesperson for the committee Democrats.
Republicans, however, accuse their rivals of “politicising victims” and promised to publish the full set of documents soon.
Epstein, the disgraced financier who cut a controversial plea deal in 2008, was arrested again in 2019 on sex trafficking charges but died by suicide in his New York jail cell before trial.
