Ademola Lookman is back in Atalanta’s squad for Saturday’s Serie A showdown with Juventus, ending weeks of uncertainty after his failed summer transfer saga.

Head coach Ivan Juric confirmed on Friday that the Nigeria international, alongside Charles De Ketelaere, will be available for the trip to Turin.

“We will have De Ketelaere with us tomorrow,” Juric told reporters. “He’s training well, and slowly, we will try to get him back to full strength.”

Lookman, 27, returned to action last weekend, coming off the bench in the 87th minute against Torino. That cameo was his first appearance of the season after a turbulent summer where he openly pushed for a move away from Bergamo.

Inter Milan were initially interested but pulled the plug over his valuation. The winger then went rogue, accusing Atalanta’s management of unfair treatment on social media before jetting off to the UK to train on his own.

With no transfer in sight, Lookman staged a dramatic U-turn, rejoining the squad barely five days before the Serie A campaign kicked off.

Juric later revealed that Lookman apologised directly to him and his teammates, admitting he had been misled during the saga.

“He spoke to me and the team on Monday. He was surrounded by people who had given him some bad advice,” the coach explained. “He has a great winning mentality, and now we need to get him back in shape physically.”

Italian reports suggest Atalanta are closing the chapter on the controversy, with no plans to sell Lookman in January. The club are keen to keep him locked in for the entire season.
