Nigerian football icons Jay-Jay Okocha and Nwankwo Kanu, along with Togolese striker Emmanuel Adebayor and Cameroonian star Alex Song, will lead a team of African Legends in a special match against Barcelona Legends on October 25, 2025, at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja. Kick-off is at 3:00 p.m.
The game, known as the Champions Cup, is organized by the Attom Foundation.
It will feature some of Africa’s greatest players going head-to-head with ex-Barcelona stars such as Ronaldinho, Ludovic Giuly, Javier Saviola, Jesús Angoy, Samuel Okunowo, Marc Valiente, Fernando Navarro, and Roberto Trashorras.
Okocha, remembered for his dazzling skills and leadership for Nigeria, enjoyed a successful career across Europe, playing for clubs like PSG and Bolton Wanderers. He also helped Nigeria win the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations and the 1996 Olympic Gold Medal.
Kanu, one of Africa’s most decorated players, won the UEFA Champions League with Ajax in 1995, two Premier League titles with Arsenal, and three FA Cups.
He is also a two-time African Footballer of the Year and played a key role in Nigeria’s Olympic triumph in 1996.

The match is not only about football it is also dedicated to raising awareness for the empowerment of the girl child. Alongside the match, fans will get the chance to meet their football heroes at a special meet-and-greet.
A gala night will also be held, with proceeds going to programs that support girls.
