Rivers United captain, Temple Emekayi, has assured fans that the team will not let Nigeria down as they prepare for a crucial CAF Champions League match this weekend.

The Pride of Rivers are set to face FC Les Aigles du Congo in the second leg of the preliminary round. The important clash will be played on Sunday at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, where Rivers United will enjoy home advantage in front of their supporters.

Speaking with confidence, Emekayi said the entire squad is fully aware of how much the game means to the club, the state, and the country.

He explained that the players have been working hard in training and are determined to deliver a good performance.

“As a team and as individuals, we know what is at stake. Nigerians are expecting victory, and we are ready to fight for it. We will give everything on the pitch to make sure we win and progress to the next round,” he assured.
