Nigerian Veteran musician Bright Chimezie, has urged Nigerians to have a rethink about relocating to other countries in search of opportunities.

Chimezie, while speaking on The Honest Bunch Podcast, claimed that Nigerians who leave the country are only helping the economy of the country they relocate to.

He added that these Nigerians have to start from the bottom to make ends meet.

“Our problem is right here. We keep helping people over there because we think the grass is greener on the other side. But it’s not. I’ve travelled quite a bit, and I can tell you there are no more opportunities there. When you get there, you start from the bottom, sometimes even washing toilets just to survive,” he said.

Chimezie also stressed the need for Nigerians to have a rethink and a change in their mentality. He stated that the colonization of Nigeria also affected people’s mindset and mentality.

“When the white people came, it affected our mentality and development. If we studied biology and mathematics with the same passion we use to read the Bible, our society would be far better,” he added.
