Lagos protest: NANS accuses PENGASSAN of threatening local industry

Hundreds of students under the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) protested in Lagos on Wednesday in support of the Dangote Refinery.
The students accused the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) of taking actions that harm ordinary Nigerians.
They said the union’s actions were slowing down progress in the country’s oil sector.
During the peaceful protest at Oworo Berger, the students carried placards with messages such as:
“Dangote Refinery – Pride of Africa”
“Stop the sabotage”
“Save Dangote Refinery”
“Stop the politics of petroleum”
“When you attack Dangote, you attack development”
“Support indigenous industries, not monopoly.”
They urged the government to protect the refinery and ensure that the interests of ordinary Nigerians are not ignored.
