Tems shines on CNN’s “African Voices” as Africa’s global music powerhouse

Grammy-winning Nigerian singer and songwriter, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, takes centre stage in a new edition of African Voices Changemakers, CNN International’s acclaimed magazine programme sponsored by Globacom.

The episode, which aired on Saturday, 4 October 2025, and hosted by Larry Madowo, chronicles Tems’ inspiring journey from creating music in her Lagos bedroom to becoming one of Africa’s most celebrated global music icons.
