Frank Edwards: How I was healed at 8 by Rev. Uma Ukpai

Nigerian gospel singer Frank Edwards, 36, has paid tribute to Reverend Uma Ukpai, who passed away on October 6, 2025, remembering the late televangelist as a life-changing influence in his spiritual journey.

On Instagram, Edwards shared a heartfelt memory: “At age 8 I got healed of asthma and pneumonia in one of your crusades in Enugu!! Thank you for impacting the world in a special way!! YOU FINISHED WELL PAPA. REST ON .”

Ukpai, who was the president of Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Ministries died at age 80.

He was not only for known his global evangelistic work but also for his extraordinary faith and resilience in the face of tragedy.

Among the most heartbreaking moments of his life was the loss of two of his children and several church members in a single day during a river accident.
