The Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has restrained the Nigeria Police Force from declaring Mr. Oluwasegun Rolland Elusoji wanted, pending the determination of a substantive motion filed before the court.
Presiding Judge, Hon. Justice D.E. Osiagor, granted leave to Mr. Elusoji to apply for judicial review by way of Orders of Certiorari, Prohibition, and Injunction against the Police’s decision, which the court described as “unlawful and made without any subsisting warrant of arrest or court order.”
The ruling followed an ex parte motion filed on September 23, 2025, by Elusoji through his legal counsel, Dr. Wahab Shittu (SAN), alongside Oluyemi Osasalu, Esq. and Nifemi Ademosu, Esq., challenging the declaration made by the Commissioner of Police, Special Fraud Unit (SFU) Lagos, and the Inspector-General of Police.
In the court’s order, Justice Osiagor directed that the grant of leave shall operate as a stay of all actions, steps, or processes connected to the declaration of Elusoji as wanted, pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice.
The case has been adjourned to October 31, 2025, for further hearing.
The Certified True Copy of the order dated October 14, 2025, and signed by Mrs. C.N. Okoro, Principal Executive Officer of the Federal High Court, Lagos, confirms that no law enforcement action may be taken against Mr. Elusoji until the court concludes its review.
