Nigerian singer, Euphemia Ekumah, popularly known as GoodGirl LA, has opened up about her rocky relationship with her father and how he disowned her after she chose music over education.
In a recent interview with Hip TV, the “Bless Me” crooner revealed that her only regret in life was going to school instead of pursuing her passion for music earlier.
“I have never regretted not completing school. I wish I never went to school. I wish I left home earlier. That’s my only regret. I wish I never wrote JAMB. I wish I ran away when my dad was forcing me to write JAMB,” she confessed.
GoodGirl LA said her father threw her out and even disowned her when she told him she wasn’t interested in continuing her education.
“When I told my parents that I wasn’t interested in going to school anymore, my dad asked me to leave his house. It was crazy. At one point, my dad even disowned me. Then, I left home,” she added.
According to the singer, she was only 16 years old and unsure of what to do, but by 17 or 18, she gained clarity about her career path and decided to chase her dreams.
Thankfully, her family later reconciled with her after she began to make waves in the Nigerian music industry.
