“All registered voters are urged to ensure they collect their PVCs within the specified period to be eligible to vote in the forthcoming governorship election in Anambra,” she said.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled October 22 to 26 for the distribution of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to citizens who registered during the recent Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) in Anambra State.

This was disclosed in a statement issued in Abuja by Mrs. Victoria Eta-Messi, Director of Voter Education and Publicity at INEC.

Eta-Messi advised all eligible voters who participated in the recently concluded CVR exercise to visit the registration areas where they initially registered to collect their PVCs.

She stressed that PVC collection is strictly in person, with no provision for collection by proxy under any circumstances.

“All registered voters are urged to ensure they collect their PVCs within the specified period to be eligible to vote in the forthcoming governorship election in Anambra,” she said.

Eta-Messi also announced that INEC would conduct a mock accreditation exercise on Saturday, October 25, in selected polling units across the three senatorial districts of the state.

She said the exercise is aimed at testing the upgraded Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS), assessing its response time, and evaluating the process of uploading results to the INEC Result Viewing Portal ahead of the main election.

Mock Accreditation Locations:

Anambra Central:

Amawbia II (03) – Igwédimma Primary School I (006) and II (007)

Idemili North – Nkpor II (06), Ububa Village Square (035)

Anambra North:

Oyi LGA – Nteje III (07), Girls’ Secondary School Nteje (005); Nteje IV (08), State Primary School Nteje (002)

Anambra East LGA – Aguleri II (02), Central School (001); Umunoke Public Square I (002)

Anambra South:

Aguata LGA – Ekwulobia I (06), Central School Ekwulobia (003); Ekwulobia II (07), Urban Girls’ Secondary School Ekwulobia (009)

Orumba North LGA – Ajalli I (01), Primary School (007) and RCM KDT School (011)

Eta-Messi urged registered voters in the listed polling units to actively participate in the mock exercise, noting that their involvement will help INEC fine-tune its operational and technological processes ahead of the governorship election.

She reaffirmed INEC’s commitment to operational efficiency, transparency, and building stakeholder confidence as preparations continue for the 2025 Anambra governorship election.
