Fola opens up on struggle with fame

Nigerian singer and song-writer Folarin Odunlami, also known as Fola, has spoken up on his recent struggles with fame and recognition.

While speaking with Spotify’s Radar, Fola revealed that while in school, his classmates barely knew him. He added that a lot of things has changed since he gained prominence and now he can’t casually go to school because of fame.

“Music matters so much to me because it is such an amazing thing that you can speak to and touch someone without even meeting them in person. 2022, I can’t forget. I put all my money on a music project but I didn’t blow. Before, if I went to the campus, people didn’t even recognise my presence. But just one year down the line, I can’t even enter school anymore because of fame,” he expressed.
