A Magistrate’s Court sitting in Kuje, Abuja, on Friday granted bail to activist, Omoyele Sowore, alongside Aloy Ejimakor, lawyer to detained IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu, and eleven others arrested over the #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protest held in the nation’s capital.
The court admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of ₦500,000 each, with two sureties in like sum.
The 13 defendants were arraigned for inciting public disturbance and breach of peace during Monday’s protest in Abuja.
While Ejimakor, Kanu’s brother Prince Emmanuel Kanu, and ten others were arrested during the demonstration and remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre, Sowore was picked up on October 23 at the Federal High Court, Abuja, after showing up to express solidarity with Kanu at his terrorism trial.
