Operations are expected to commence with seven coaches—six standard class and one business class—while a new timetable, incorporating temporary speed restrictions for safety and operational monitoring, will be released on Monday.

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced that the Warri–Itakpe Train Service (WITS) will resume full operations on Wednesday, 29th October 2025, following a period of temporary suspension for critical maintenance and system checks.

According to the NRC, the suspension was necessary to carry out essential repairs on the track and rolling stock to enhance passenger safety, comfort, and service reliability.

In a statement signed by the Chief Public Relations Officer, Callistus Unyimadu, the Corporation said online ticket booking for the service will open by 12 noon on Monday, 27th October 2025, via https://nrc-fane.ng.

Passengers are also advised to secure tickets early through the portal or at designated train stations.

Operations are expected to commence with seven coaches, six standard class and one business class, while a new timetable, incorporating temporary speed restrictions for safety and operational monitoring, will be released on Monday.

The NRC apologised to passengers for the inconveniences caused during the suspension period and expressed gratitude for their patience and understanding.

The Managing Director, Dr. Kayode Opeifa, reaffirmed the Corporation’s commitment to providing safe, reliable, and efficient rail transport services as full passenger operations resume on the Warri–Itakpe corridor.
