Nollywood actor and filmmaker, Daniel Etim-Effiong, has shared how his Christian faith influences his acting career, particularly when it comes to romantic roles.

In an interview with Channels Television, Etim-Effiong disclosed that he prays to God before performing any kissing scene on set.

He said his spiritual convictions guide his decisions, and he seeks divine direction before accepting such roles.

“The fact that I play a lot of romantic roles in the industry today means that I get to have kissing scenes sometimes,” he said.

“People feel it’s become one too many, but the question should go to the producers. Why are they expressing affection and intimacy only a certain way? There are several other ways you can show affection.”

He noted that many producers include kissing scenes because they attract viewers and align with market demand, stressing that audiences often enjoy romantic displays in movies.

Speaking further, the actor said, “I get all my inspiration from God. I go on my knees and pray before I go to set and kiss. My family is my garden, then my work.”

Etim-Effiong also revealed that his journey into acting was a calling, which led him to leave his engineering career to pursue storytelling.

“It becomes a purpose to me, and that’s why I had the courage to quit engineering, a well-paying job, to go into storytelling. It felt like a calling,” he added.
