In a  post shared on Instagram, the actress disclosed that she has been struggling with facial hair and stubborn body fat, both well-known symptoms of PCOS, a hormonal disorder affecting many women of reproductive age.

Nollywood actress Etinosa Idemudia has spoken about her battle with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), revealing that she has endured body shaming and online trolling due to symptoms associated with the condition.

In a  post shared on Instagram, the actress disclosed that she has been struggling with facial hair and stubborn body fat, both well-known symptoms of PCOS, a hormonal disorder affecting many women of reproductive age.

Etinosa, who recently underwent surgery to reduce excess fat, said she was initially trolled over her appearance before discovering that her symptoms were due to PCOS.

“A lady came to troll me talking about visceral fat. I didn’t get angry, I googled it and found out it is from a female targeted medical condition called PCOS,” she wrote.

The actress revealed that she consulted with her gynecologist, who confirmed that PCOS has no cure and can only be managed over time.

Sending out an uplifting message to women facing similar struggles, she encouraged them not to lose hope.

“I’m writing this to every woman out there with PCOS to tell you that you are not alone. Even if it’s your husband that is mocking you or strangers online, you will overcome. I carried my baby and you will carry your baby. That facial hair or stubborn fat does not make you any less. You are beautiful and you are enough.”
