Nigerian football fans have not been able to contain their outrage as they blame the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) for to make arrangements for the streaming of the Super Falcon’s match against their opponents from Benin in the WAFCON 2026 qualifying series.

Although the match, a second leg encounter between the two teams took place on Tuesday at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta, no Nigeria TV station was able to broadcast it live.

There were also no live streams on any online platform. Nigerian football aficionados kept visiting different platforms to watch the match but were disappointed. P.M. News checked the CAF Online TV, and the Nigerian Football Federation platforms but nothing was happening on them live.

The NFF Facebook page was particularly woeful as the last post on the platform was put up on October 7. Nigerians blamed the NFF for the worrisome development wondering why they could not watch the match live.

A popular blogger/ sports analyst, IfeOluwa Leo-Olagbaye mocked the NFF on her Facebook page. She wrote: “NFF is struggling to stream a match on our home soil, but if it’s $1.2M like this, they know how to stream, sorry steal it. Very incompetent lots.”

Afterwards, she put up another post where she wrote: “You are guaranteed watching an away game against Nigeria than a home game because of gross ineptitude of the most hopeless Federation on this planet. Common livestream.”

A social media user, Ogunyemi Adekunle Emmanuel wrote: “NFF na the most yeye institution in Nigeria.” Another frustrated Nigerian, Azuma A. Okore, wrote: “In a saner clime some of the people that are occupying the Nigerian football federation (NFF) house are not even qualified to be a high school game master or physical education teacher. Nigerians and Super Falcons fans can’t stream their live match via any streaming platform in their own backyard. This is a national disgrace of the highest order. Something need to be done in order to save our football.”

The match ended in a 1-1 draw but the Super Falcons qualified for the WAFCON on 3-1 aggregate having beaten their opponents 2-0 in the first leg of their encounter.
