The Ogun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced the passing of its Public Education Officer, Chief Route Commander Florence Okpe.
The State Sector Commander, Akinwunmi Fasakin, confirmed the development to journalists in Abeokuta on Tuesday, describing the late Okpe as a highly committed and exemplary officer.
According to Fasakin, Okpe, who had been battling an undisclosed illness, passed away earlier on Tuesday in her hometown in Cross River State.
He explained that she had been receiving medical attention in Ogun State before being granted leave to continue treatment at home, where she later died.
“It’s a sad day for the command,” Fasakin said, adding that “Okpe was a rare gem, intelligent, diligent, and deeply professional in all she did. Her dedication to duty and the Corps was truly outstanding. We have lost one of our best.”
He extended condolences to her family, friends, and colleagues, praying for strength and comfort as they mourn her loss.
Until her death, Florence Okpe served as the image maker of the FRSC in Ogun State, where she was widely respected for her professionalism and commitment to public service.
