Nigerian rapper Oladipupo Olabode Oladimeji, popularly known as Oladips, has opened up about a shocking encounter with operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), revealing that he was arrested and detained over alleged tax evasion.
The rapper, while speaking during an interview with Hip TV, recounted how EFCC officials stormed his estate around 3am in November 2024, raiding houses and arresting residents over fraud allegations.
According to him, he remained calm because he had no involvement in internet fraud, only to end up being detained for not paying tax.
“It was just a normal night. EFCC entered my estate—it’s a big estate—and they were going from house to house arresting people. I was on my bed pressing my phone because I don’t do Yahoo, I don’t do fraud. Na person wey do fraud go dey run,” he narrated.

“When they didn’t see anything to hold me down, one of their oga asked if I pay tax. That’s how they locked me up for not paying tax.”
