The Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has invited Senate President Godswill Akpabio to attend a project commissioning ceremony in her constituency.

Akpabio read Natasha’s invitation letter during Thursday’s Senate plenary session. The event will take place on Sunday in Ihima, Kogi State, as part of activities marking her second anniversary in the Senate.

“In celebration of my second year as a serving Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I invite my fellow Distinguished Senators to join me for the commissioning of projects in Kogi State,” the letter stated.

The letter also mentioned that the meeting point will be at her residence, Plot 101, Jimoh Akpoti Street, Ihima, Okene, and advised senators arriving by air to use Obajana Airstrip before proceeding by road to Ihima.

After reading the invitation, Akpabio congratulated Natasha in advance, saying, “Congratulations in advance.”

The invitation is seen as a sign of reconciliation between the two senators after their disagreement earlier this year. In February, a dispute over seat reallocation led to Natasha’s six-month suspension from the Senate on March 6.

Since her return to duty on September 24, she has been participating more actively in plenary sessions and has occasionally interacted with the Senate President.

This latest invitation marks her most open gesture of peace towards Akpabio since the dispute.
