Former Ekiti State governor and PDP stalwart, Ayodele Fayose, has declared that the Peoples Democratic Party is effectively dead in Ekiti State, describing its governorship hopefuls as being “in self-deception.”

Speaking in Ado Ekiti, Fayose lamented that the PDP no longer has any functional structure or active gatherings in the state, adding that the party’s decline mirrors its national woes.

While reaffirming his membership of the PDP, Fayose openly praised Governor Biodun Oyebanji of the APC, commending his governance and predicting a landslide victory for him in the 2026 election.

“I am not APC and will never be,” he said, “but Oyebanji is performing well, and I will not condemn good work because of politics. The people of Ekiti want him to continue, even till 2030.”
